Pennsylvania's competitive Senate landscape makes this one of the most watched races of the 2026 cycle, with incumbent John Fetterman defending his seat.
John Fetterman has served as U.S. Senator from Pennsylvania since January 2023. Known for his towering 6'8" frame, hoodie-and-shorts attire, and blunt political style. He previously served as Lieutenant Governor and Mayor of Braddock. In recent months, Fetterman has broken with his party on several issues, including immigration and support for Israel.
Erik Gerhardt is a master carpenter and general contractor from Montgomery County, Pennsylvania who joined the Libertarian Party in 2019. He ran for U.S. Senate in 2022, polling around 3.5% in some surveys. Known for his grassroots approach and commitment to individual liberty, he advocates for ending the War on Drugs, protecting gun rights, and dramatically shrinking the federal government.
Dan Meuser has represented Pennsylvania's 9th congressional district since 2019. A businessman who built a large mobility equipment company, he served as Pennsylvania's Secretary of Revenue under Governor Corbett. A strong Trump ally and member of the House Freedom Caucus, he is seeking the Republican nomination to challenge incumbent John Fetterman.
Dave McCormick is a West Point graduate, Army combat veteran, and former hedge fund CEO who served as Bridgewater Associates' chief executive. He ran for Senate in Pennsylvania in 2022, narrowly losing the Republican primary to Mehmet Oz. He then won the 2024 Pennsylvania Senate race over Bob Casey Jr. He is now the junior U.S. Senator from Pennsylvania and a leading figure in the MAGA-aligned GOP establishment.
