Joe Lombardo has served as Governor of Nevada since January 2023, defeating incumbent Steve Sisolak by 1.5 points. Previously Clark County Sheriff for nine years, he oversaw the response to the 2017 Las Vegas mass shooting. A centrist Republican focused on public safety, economic development, and maintaining Nevada's business-friendly climate.
Aaron Ford has served as Nevada Attorney General since 2019, the first Black person to hold the office. A former Nevada Senate Majority Leader and Las Vegas native, he has focused on consumer protection, housing security, and defending reproductive rights. He is considered a top Democratic contender for the governorship.
